Upcoming KPMG Coffee Chats

Hello Accounting Club Members,

Are you interested in learning about opportunities at KPMG in tax?  KPMG is hosting two networking events for a chance to meet with KPMG recruitment team, and their CPA tax professionals.  These events take the stress out of networking but setting the environment for a coffee chat while learning about KPMG, career development in tax and the CPA designation.

These sessions are intended for current second and third year university/college students or Diploma of Accounting students that are interested in pursuing a career in tax and looking for co-op and full-time roles starting in 2021. Space is limited, so please only register if you meet this criteria and can commit to attending.

REGISTER FOR CVITP FREE TAX RETURN

Find out if you’re eligible for a free tax return

You must fulfill ALL of the following requirements to be eligible to register for a free tax return:

If you have any questions, regarding your eligibility,  please email us : langaraaccountingclub@gmail.com.

  1. Must need help with tax return for the tax year 2018 only
  2. Must be a currently enrolled Langara student (OR planning to take courses in summer)
  3. Annual income must be lower than $35,000
  4. Must only have income from one or more of the following sources:
    • Employment (salary and commission income)
    • Scholarships, fellowships, bursaries or grants
    • Interest (under $1,000)
  5. Must not have these tax situations:
    • Have your own business
    • Have rental income
    • Have capital gains or losses such as selling houses or capital investments
    • Have immigrated to Canada in 2018

If you find yourself eligible, please check the following tax return preparation schedule. Find a date and time that works for you, click on the registration link for that slot and finish your registration.

Don’t forget to bring the following documents with you on your tax return day

  • A piece of government issued photo ID
  • Your Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Tax forms that are applicable for you: T4 (employment income); T2202A (tuition); T5 (interest); T4A (Commission, scholarships, RESP payments etc.)
  • An unofficial enrolment letter showing you’re enrolled in either the spring 2019 semester, or the summer 2019 semester, or both. (letter can be acquired from your mylangara student account, a digital copy saved on your phone is fine)
  • 2017 Notice of Assessment from CRA and a copy of 2017 T1 Return
  • A USB drive to save your tax return documents
